What is CitiIQ?
Human-centric data and scoring for cities.
The CitiIQ measurement system encompasses the economic, environmental, social and cultural infrastructures of a city and has organized 35 imperatives, called Considerations into a hierarchical pyramid inspired by Abraham Maslow’s theory of human motivation.
Using an intuitive online dashboard, a city’s measurements are readily available to clients through a cloud-based annual subscription. The CitiIQ system is easy to use, economical, and effective with no need to purchase new software or abandon existing metrics.
How CitiIQ Works
107 specific city Indicators drive the Diagnostic Tool. The list of Indicators was developed to optimize comprehensiveness, credibility, accuracy, and likelihood of accessible data. The Indicators inform the 35 Considerations to varying degrees, reflecting the complex and interrelated nature of a city’s wellbeing.
The CitiIQ algorithm normalizes all of the scores on a common scale so that they can be readily compared. By scoring each Indicator, Consideration and Dimension out of 100, clients are provided with a comparable, holistic picture of a city’s strengths and weaknesses that can be compared to other cities around the world.
A single city score is calculated from dimension weightings that reflect the nature of the city through a human lens.
